Cross Border Faith

I continued to live after the haunted forest. However, there is one more thing I need to survive before going back home. This is my final quest in the conquest of Central Europe during Erasmus. It will include cities such as Karlsruhe , Constance , Munich , Prague and Berlin . Megalomaniac? Yes. The travel begins today on Thursday night towards the first destiny. ← Part One When I was a kid, I used to dream of life full of mystery and adventure. I had a quite a bit of an imagination back then and used to love horror and fantasy novels. However, I remember often feeling so disappointed when my actual life never really seemed to match with my imaginative mind. Coming to a grown-age now, I still have that same hunger and passion to experience exciting, adventurous and even mysterious things in life. And this, to my mind, is the best reason for traveling, because traveling can open up so many new lanes in life to unimaginable things, to a world that you never even knew was out there! It all started up as my crazy-funny idea to explore a haunted place in Germany, most likely somewhere here in Lower-Saxony, since the transportation is free for us with the student ID. Today Friday night we have planned with a small group of friends to explore a little place called Karlsteine or Charlemagne's Stones in Osnabrück . According to legend, the place is haunted by dead spirits of the ancient times and it has been many times listed as one of the most haunted places in Germany . We are going to stay up the night with a small tent and record any paranormal activity we might encounter. As crazy as it may sound, we are going for a real ghost hunt! The narrative of this place is quite interesting. In the early Middle Ages, Charles the Great or Charlemagne was King of the Franks who conquered most of western and central Europe from the pagans and turned the regions under a Christian rule. It is said that one of these bloody battles took place in Osnabrück-Haste where the Karlsteine is located. Kaffee und Brezel. I took a Coffee and a Pretzel (ger. Brezel) to write this post. Somehow this simple combination has become one of my favourite things in the morning. Pretzel is a German bakery product that comes in different shapes and ingredients. The one I usually eat is twisted into a traditional loop with some butter inside (picture). Since I'm not a fan of huge breakfasts, I personally think coffee and pretzel is just enough for the morning to get the day started. It is the last month of my exchange period here in Göttingen and I wanted to provide some reflection of how my daily life here looks like and what the future has yet to bring forth before this one of the most thrilling Chapters of my life finally closes and prepares the way for the next exciting one to open.
